<T>I was working on a project and was shocked to discover that the trim had disappeared from all of my doors. I have changed every parameter I could find but none of them made my door frames return. Does anybody know how I can get them back?</T>

What version of archicad are you using? What operating system?

If you have AC12 or higher there is a partial structure display setting. Check that to see if it is the issue.

Did you change your floor plan scale?
If your doors are set to have a scale sensitive display, this can "simplify" the symbols.

I'm using ArchiCAD 13 on a mac. I tried changing my Partial Structure Display but it was already set to Entire Structure.
I did change the scale from the 1:48 that the default was set on to 1:100. How would I fix the display if that was the issue?

Ok, so I found the 2D representation option (it was set to scale sensitive) but now my door tool isn't working at all. After the first click to select a centre-point or corner no white space appears in the wall as a place to put the door. How do I fix this problem?

Can you select the wall? Without any more information, it kind of sounds as though you may have activated the evil Snap Grid (this is easy to do with the default settings - just hit "S").
