I have not loaded 13 yet.
Have they really put it under mvo global settings?
What happened to a window's parameter settings.
Parameters>3d Rep>Opening lines in 3d?
Which worked per individual window fine in 12 I thought.
Yes, a new trick:) All options which typically are depending on the given views are now set in the model view options dialog. This is an open technology, so 3rd party library developers can use it too. (Window parameter settings is still there, naturally.)
It is possible, sure. The problem is that two controls for the same function necessarily create a collision which has to be resolved. We circumvented this situation by dropping the individual setting for most view dependent settings (not all of them but won't look it up right now). Naturally, we expected feedback from the users after the release of AC13.

For which view options would you need individual setting?
Zsolt,

we have solved this problem, that all the parameters that are in the MVO have the same UI in the win-door objects. In the object UI you can turn it on/off the "use the MVO settings" parameter.

I think one of people want to use individually the pivot lines and the others the type of the opening lines, ect...
Since you ask
It's great having the abilitiy to make global settings like turning off knobs taps and handles for 3D work, but there are times when doing any phase where you may want them.

1. show door knobs on doors you walk through, but not cabinet doors.
2. Sometimes we show a fixed version of a door such as a patio door assembly and we want only the operable ones to show the swing. Or to show active leaf of a pair of doors.

3. Door & window opening line: some use this to differentiate doors. This has been discussed elsewhere .here for one discussion.

4. Show additional hotspots for d/w and the Minimal Space only as global on/off have as yet not been a problem for me.

Szia Zsolt, we do a lot of renovation and addition projects.

To be able to show existing clearly from new is the big plus our local
GDL guru has made available in his latest 4D Library
We can globally set many MV options and then decide which parts
be they doors/windows/cabinet/fixtures to display differently.

I am sure it could make it in v14

I'll have to take a look at this. I've never bothered much about this since I generally just use my own custom parts which only show the opening lines in elevation view (GLOB_CONTEXT = 4). I've never understood why anyone would want the opening lines in perspective or axon views.

If you don't want door swings to show in 3D windows, you only need to save a MVO with them turned off with your view.
These global MVO options are only a problem when within a view/drawing you want to have one item with it on and another with it off.

The global MVO settings are a fantastic idea.
Generally you will want an overall setting that can be save with the individual views
But any object that is adjusted by these settings must have an over-ride to say not to use the MVO.
Any settings can then be made individually in the object.

I have started to script this into my custom libray parts and it is working really well.
An extra line or two of code and everyone is happy.
Sure.
Really simple.

There will be a line that checks the MVO setting.
Something like this.

success = LIBRARYGLOBAL ("JWH_LibraryGlobals13", "pres_white_pen_swch", req_pres_white_pen)

You just need to add a boolean parameter in the objects so that if it is on it looks for the MVO setting and if off it doesn't.

if MVO_pres_swch = 1 then
success = LIBRARYGLOBAL ("JWH_LibraryGlobals13", "pres_white_pen_swch", req_pres_white_pen)
endif

2 extra lines and a new parameter.

Great when you have that ability, but when you don't;
Makes Archicad look like it's being made for programmers not Architects.
Odd, where's the TON of wish lists of Architects demanding this "bug"?
And where are the true wish list items that are so frequently asked for?
What the....

I don't use the Graphisoft objects but I am guessing that in the case of the cupboard door swings they would have taken out or hidden the parameter in the object that turns them on or off.

It would then be controlled via the scripts and the returned value from the LIBRARYGLOBAL request.
It would be a matter of adding back or unhiding the door swing parameter.

Something like this.

!!Master script
if MVO_doorswing_swch = 1 then
HIDEPARAMETER "show_doorswing"
success = LIBRARYGLOBAL ("LibraryGlobals13", "doorswing_swch", req_doorswing)
endif

if req_doorswing = 1 then
show_doorswing = 1
else
show_doorswing = 0
endif
PARAMETERS show_doorswing = show_doorswing

!!3D script
if show_doorswing = 1 then
line commands here
endif
