<T>I am using the shed dormer object from skylights. How do you get the roof to show as overhead line
and the side walls to show as walls in a floor plan view?</T>

I would recommend modelling dormer windows with walls and roofs instead of the skylights. The options are very limited and it's a pain in the behind to get things to show on plan as you would like them to.

To 'cut' away the part of the wall below the roof and get an accurate floorplan display you can use the special 'opening' windows and set them to projected instead of symbolic. This means the walls will cut away properly with your floor plan cut plane.
