<T>Hi

At our office we have a typical template for pens, lines, etc.

How do we alter all the defaults in the ArchiCAD libraries,eg. so that whenever we select an object ALL the line outline is the same colour, & the fill background colout & type is the same.

Thanks!</T>

You could either use Favorites or you will have to "Open" every Object in your Library, make your default settings then "Save" the Object back to the Library.

I do not recommend the latter because once you alter the standard ArchiCAD Library, you will need to manually make your custom Object changes every time the Library gets updated from GS.

Hi David, I appreciate you taking the time to reply,

I think youre missing the point of my question. we have set up numerous favourites. however on the odd occasion we want to insert a new object. we have to go through & alter all the line contours, the fill types, the fill colours.
there must be a way to make (at least the 2D settings) the same over every object)

right now the default contour pen for every object is 75.

& the fill type is 'empty fill" with the fill pen being 19 & the fill background pen being 19.

I want to change these variables so that they are repeated on the entire library.

& no i dont want to change my pens.

perhaps this should be in the GDL forum??

Currently, the only way to do what you are asking is how I described, whether you do this in the GDL editor or through XML export/import. In any case, you will have to alter every Object in your Library that you want to set the defaults.

I have setup numerous offices with custom templates and standards, and one thing that I tell my clients is to adopt and follow the Pen Settings (at least similar pen weights), as well as Fill, Linetype, and Material Settings, that are provided in the default ArchiCAD template file. This will alleviate issues that you are currently experiencing.
