Howdy,

Not to sure what your exactly trying to achieve...If you are trying to "strip out" the gdl code so you can distribute a part while protecting your work you may want to look at the "special" menu item "Update Library Parts Advanced"

Have a look at the following;

<LINK_TEXT text="http://www.archicadwiki.com/TechNotes/A ... nvironment">http://www.archicadwiki.com/TechNotes/Add%20Special%20Menu%20to%20Registry/Work%20Environment</LINK_TEXT>

Basically you need to "unlock" the option before you can add this item into your work environment.

When you do run "Update Library Parts Advanced" it will prompt you first... make sure you only have the libraries loaded that you want stripped down. otherwise you may find yourself locked out of other parts.

Personally I tend to compress my library folder before running this process just to be safe.

Hopefully that helps,

Regards,

Jevrod:

After a quick test, this is what I found:

1. If you open the library part and do a Save As... and check the Save in Binary Format, the object is not saved as binary.
2. If you place the object in plan, view it in the 3D Window, then Save 3D Model As..., you will get the small dialog box where you choose the object type (Object, Door or Window) and the option to save as binary or edible GDL Script, this will save the part in binary code.

I don't know if the binary option in 1 above works in other circumstances.
