Whoops, I spoke too soon. That label does not have a fill either. Attached is the Shape Label with a fill option added (at least to most of the shapes).

What label are you using or are you making your own? I have plenty of labels that have opaque fills...so it certainly can work.

Taking a quick look at the GDL for that label, it does not appear to have a fill in the coding which is why it is not working for you. Try James Murray's shape label found in the GDL depository, here:

<LINK_TEXT text="http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/obj ... sitory.php">http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/object_depository.php</LINK_TEXT>?

Will that work for you?

same thing. the weird thing is the opaque work on the section and detail markers, just not the label marker.

What was the error? and what did you figure out?
It is an unspoken tradition that if you find a solution to your problem you should post what the answer is so that the next person that has the same problem can read it.

The Opaque button works only for text label. This function is hard coded into AC.
For scripted labels, there is not any GDL Global variable assigned to this feature. We have to use traditional fills.

In the Label modified by Erich, these settings are in Symbol Label > Mask.
