ASAP help about tensile roof GDL.

today i create a tensile roof with the basic shape lib. and at the beginning, it was all right, then i dont know what i did the tensile roof become the wireframe in 3D window and even i render or change the 3d-view to any mode, it is all like this, just has black line wireframe, even rebot the laptop, it is still no working.

does anyone know how to fix it or is it a bug?

BTW.. all other lib. parts works all right...

only this one, and it is very importnt that i will use it for next coming project.

only thing i remember is i just change the structure dimension of it then it become wireframe mode forever!

Now I've tried it and you are right - I get the wireframe.

And Tensile Roof 11 also does it when used in Archicad 12.

I wonder how long it has been this way?

I looked at the code and other than the fact that an array is erroneously attached to the material definition, there seems to be no change.

i agree, the tensile roof itself has no thickness at all...comparing with all the other objects in its same group, but i wonder how this thing works in 11 but not 12..

Try with a different object - download from our Object Depository "Mesh 3D" that can be manipulated into one of the roof segments.

Taking a quick look at the 3D Script, I can only find lines there, so there are no solid parts. I don't know how they generated the Preview image.

David, it shows a surface only on old versions. Works for me until 11, not after.
This is a prehistoric part using obsolete keywords (AC 4 or 5, may be).

You have to replace some of these keywords
NODE -> VERT
LINE -> EDGE
TRI -> PGON

Yes, a bit like ancestors of GDL primitives.
Unfortunately, tiangulation EDGEs are not defined, and thus, PGON can not work. Frustrating.

I could fix the part, if I had some interest to do, but sorry, no time for this. I let GS do THEIR job.
Notice that COONS tool could be a better alternative to GDL primitives.

Once again, GS scripts are a mess, due to the lack of STRUCTURATION. I had to do some clean up.
Sorry to start this new year with a rant.

GS, shame on you.

Olivier has the point.

There is some problem in the 3D engine of AC12 with these prehistoric commands. Since I have no direct effect on the fixing of those, I re-wrote the object using the new equivalent commands for the next update. All languages will get it in their next library update.

I got it. Attached, a fixed part.

It would be simple to use Special Menu feature "Place all Library Parts",
to avoid bad surprises, before each new release.
