I do not think that a mesh can be a wallhole or wallniche because
the manual only mentions slabs and roofs. But the documentation
may be out of date because Karl was able to use a complex profile
wall to be a wallniche. Please see this thread:
<LINK_TEXT text="http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/vie ... hp?t=25226">http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=25226</LINK_TEXT>
You can use a mesh as a fill body set to fit into a regular A and B
size opening. If you are in AC 12, can't you make splay reveal openings?
I had understood that this is possible in AC 12.

<T>I am currently having an issue with getting my walls in archicad to work with custom/irregular shaped windows. I have seen this fixed in tutorials before but it doesn't seem to be working for me in this situation:

I created a custom window as a (window) library part and inserted it into my wall. Since the window is not rectangular the wall has holes at the top of the window. I've seen this corrected where you can open the object's 3D script and copy and paste the objects "cprism" dimesions to create a "wallhole" with the same dimensions. This doesn't seem to be working correctly for me. Any advice?

Thanks!</T>

After you have built your window in the plan, make one more slab
that is the exact shape of the outside of your window frame and is
positioned exactly in the same place as the frame. Give this slab the ID
"Wallhole" and save the assembly as a window object. You don't have
to edit the script because there will be a wallhole command in the script.
Also, find the section on custom object making in the reference manual. It is very well explained there.

I had only occasional/sporadic luck with wallhole, wallniche in 11 and gave up.
Typical G.S. translations of this wonderful programs technology by techno heads that creates problems.
The 12 manual says:"Place a slab or a roof that has a contour of the desired wall hole or wall niche." (pg322) This really is not clear.
What is clear is Peters statement:
"make one more slab that is the exact shape of the outside of your window frame and is positioned exactly in the same place as the frame".
Now that's clear and I finally have control over it.
Thanks Peter!!!
On this subject, is there some way to use a mesh to form the wall hole? (It doesn't work if you just give the ID the WALLHOLE label)

So we'd be able to have angled inner reveals like you get on churches etc.

Thanks in advance
