In an elevation, select all the windows, open the window settings, under Listing and Labeling check the Label objects box. You can do this from the Info box too.

Labels will appear on all the windows.

Then, select all labels, open label settings. The default label is text, the flyout on the upper right. Change to Object label. Close settings. Open them again, in the bottom is the Object label settings tab. Open it and set the parameters as you like (label shape, what is shown in the label, pens, text sizes - label outlines adjust to text size), click OK.

You should have all the windows labelled as you like. Save ther Favourite for the label, in order to re-use later.

window/door associated "size" label

<T>I've been searching through different section here and other AC forums, places, for the concept of associative labels for AC and yet all the articles I have found seem to be quite old. Even great "Onland" article date is 2004 and (no object download that I could find).
Does someone know of associative object size (dimension) labels that work in plan and also show in elevation AC 12? I know it can do the id#s, but that’s not what I want.
Especially interested in Door and Window plan “label” (see image) (SIZE) being seen in PLAN & ELEVATION, only setting it ONCE.

A legend is ok as reference for more data, but floor plans/elevations being “size-taged” makes for a lot
less mistakes when visualizing, ordering and placing specialized and expensive items like doors and windows.

It may be simple by now (12), but I'm not getting it.
Even after also reading our wonderful manual?
If not stock way, location of “smart” label object that will do this, I can purchase?
Thanks
Try this:

1. With no Window selected, go to the Label Settings Dialog. This will let you specify default settings for Labels created from now on.
2. Select "Window" from the list.
3. Click the Favorites button and load the desired Favorites.
4. Click OK to accept changes and close the Dialog.
5. Select the Window and check the Label Window checkbox.
It should work. Does for me.

I have been testing the window labels. Please let me know if any of these observations are not correct.

Of the choices I have available in the US version of AC12, only the "louver identifier_NCS 12" automatically shows up at the center of the window in the elevation. The rest seem to relate to a corner and are difficult to select and move after placing them.

Fortunately, the "louver identifier" will show the ID on the elevation and has the US standard diamond shape, which is all I want.

The same window labels are not as good on the plan, because they don't come in at the center of the window. The NCS dimension marker of the window library part seems to be easier to use on the plan view.

In any case, turning the label on on the elevation does not make it show up on the plan, and vice versa. They have to be done separately.
