This is not a perfect solution, but it is a decent work-around. you can always have the drawing ID set to be the view ID in the drawing settings

Titles referencing sources view ID

<T>I have searched but did not find this exact issue and am not seeing anything to solve it in the reference manuals.

Is there a variable or request that I can add to a title type so that it can get the view id of a drawing placed on a layout? Obviosly the view name is available but sometime the id is easier to find. This would be useful when reviewing a printed document and needing to change a particular details or worksheet, etc. where there could be a large number of drawings in a folder. I know we can always go to the layout and select the drawing in question to "find" it but I would also like to be able to use the old fashioned way.

Thanks.</T>

Hello,

You might try <DRAWINGID> without any requests, for example;

text2 AC_DrawingRect[1], AC_DrawingRect[2], "<DRAWINGID>"

Here are some other automatic texts which might be helpful;

<SUBSETID>
<SUBSETNAME>
<LAYOUTID>
<LAYOUTNAME>
<DRAWINGNAME>
<DRAWINGSCALE>

Best regards, Juha

Juha,

Good idea, I hadn't tried the autotext options yet. Unfortunately, none of them seem to be able to get the view ID only the Drawing ID in the layout.

I think I may be running into a similar issue to what was going on in this post:
<LINK_TEXT text="http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/vie ... eferencing">http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=16585&highlight=back+referencing</LINK_TEXT>
