Discover number of polygons per object?

Hello!

How can you work out the polygon count or number of polygons in particular objects?

I am exporting to Cinema 4D and having serious trouble rendering out animations - i would like to compare the poly count of an object I created in ArchiCAD to one I could buy that is C4D Native.

Select the object you want to check and then go to the WINDOW menu > PALETTES > POLYCOUNT

Thank you for your reply.. I do not have that palette option.. the closest i get is 'element information' but if does not contain the poly count info.. i then searched 'poly count' in the archiCAD help and nothing came up.. has this feature been removed in later versions of ArchiCAD (AC11)?

I forgot it is a "Goodie" so you will need to have it installed.
You can track down the goodies via the help menu.

Thanks Barry - that was really helpful and exactly what I was after..

You don't have any suggestions how I compare a Poly Count Value (2,999) to a Value of 'Faces' (8 193) or 'vertices' (10 255)?

In 3D they are usually called, depending on the program, nodes or vertices (points - 1 dimensional), edges (lines - 2 dimensional) and polygons or faces (planes - 3 dimensional). So I think you should look at the number of FACES of the object.

Oh OK - that makes sense.. ow do I find out the FACE values on ArchiCAD Objects?

What is called FACE in another program is called Polygon in ArchiCAD. The PolyCount Add-On will tell you the Polygon number.
