Hi,

Is it possible to create a glass balustrade that has a door set in it, such as for a pool fence?

Assuming you are using the new railing tool in 21/22 then not easily with one railing.

Break it up so the gate is a separate piece of railing.
Then add your own hinges and catch if need be.
You can even rotate this panel to appear open.
Add an arc for the 2D door swing.

This is easier than trying to manipulate one panel to be the width of the gate and then turning internal and end posts on/off and adjusting their offsets.
Don't try and use the bracket fixing for the hinges as you can't turn them off on one side only.

I didn't - I just drew them on the screen shot.
But just use a small wall or slab or morph for them.

Hi Tracey. I have come across the same issue while trying to work with the Railing Tool. Since I draw the pool fence quite a lot I thought I might as well create my own object. Works well for some types of shower screens too.

It's been sitting in my library for a while but your post triggered me to release it. You can download it at my website and it should soon be available on BIMcomponents.
