preview of gdl still missing

hi there! I've been using some gdl objects that I collected from the web and imported them into my projects using archicad10. now I switched to archicad11 and now when I'm clickinh through my own library with the collected gsm files... I can only see the file's name, but not a preview anymore. this never happened with archicad10 before and the files are exactly the same. does anybody have an idea how I can change some settings in order to preview what I am importing into my project?

This is a bug with AC11 -- you need to install the latest hotfix.

thank you for that! I have installed the latest hotfix, but still I don't get a preview of the gdl objects?! I am running AC11 on an intelmac, but I don't think this is the problem. can you think of something else? thank you very much!

I just tried to use AC10 and there the preview doesn't work anymore either. maybe it has something to do with the installment of the nex OS leopard for mac? maybe this somehow interacts with the preview functions of AC... that the preview is impossible?! very strange though, because with all other programs the preview function is just perfect...
does anybody have the same problem?!

I just know it was a problem prior to the 1086 hotfix -- sorry.

Could you post any one of the objects Melissa? That way other users can check it on a similar system and give you feedback.

BTW, it is a good idea to insert your system specifications and ArchiCAD version into your signature.

ups... that uploading didn't work.... I give this another try!
so this a file that I can "see" only once I import it into AC... when I serach through the files that I want to import I used to see previews of the objects that the files contained... but now I only see the file names. so I don't have a clue WHAT shovel is hidden in that file and it's quite time consuming to first have to import each object and then look at it to find out it's the wrong one.

Ah!

Am out of office just now but will certainly try it when I get back tomorrow. Am on XP, anyway, so hopefully someone with the same OS as you will get there first.

thanks for trying that out: still... I do get the previews in that field... but I do have to import the file into AC before I can see it there (see pic1)... but when I just go via the normal object import route (see pic2)... I don't get a preview when I search for an object that I want to import... this has always been the case before.
so if you didn't import the gsm file into AC, but have only put it into a folder and linked it to AC like the original library folder... it would be great if you could let me know how you did this. this would definitely be another option.

I don't know German, so I am guessing that this is the Open Object dialog. I am getting the preview whether or not the object is in one of the loaded libraries. Your signature and screen shot indicate you are using OS X.5 (I am on OS X.4), so that might be the difference, or perhaps something else.

yes.. I guess that is the problem... leopard is great ;o) but this is really disturbing ;o(
