topic duplicate library part in Libraries & objects

<T>I have copied an MSA index marker and then relocated the copy into a different directory and then re-named the MSA index marker. However, Archicad still sees it as a duplicate library part. I have done this with other objects in the past and have had no problems - except when I try to load 2 copies of the same library or something brainless like that. Is there something special with the MSA object??</T>

David:

I think you need to open the library part, then do a Save As.. to create the duplicate part. I am on the Mac, but when i have copied library parts in the Finder, the GUID number remains the same (that long alpha-numeric thing between brackets in your screen shot), so ArchiCAD thinks they are the same part. Doing a Save As... should assign a new GUID to the new part.
