I found the simple right triangle with opp/adj.........etc. After comparing these basic formulas with the ones in the struts I figured out how they work. Using basic algebra you can script prisms based on certain angles quite easily. Having a ball!!

<T>I've been working with the struts in the AC 9 Roof Maker library 81(Strut12_1..Strut22_1). What I'd like to do is script them so that the upper end of them has a perpendicular cut rather than plumb or level(vertical or horizontal). This cut must remain regardless of the pitch. The bottom cut can remain as it is. I assume it has to do with the "Sin..Cos..Tan" formulas but I can't isolate the ones I need to create the perpendicular cut. Thanks in advance. I have a print of the attached PDF taped to the wall next to my
computer so I don't have to solve for each variable everytime
I need to. I find it very handy.
Hey Peter,

Good stuff, going right next to my monitor in the office and at home. As much as I love to figure things out for myself I really could have used this info a week ago!!!! Just kidding! I love a challenge. Thanks again.
Hello Doug,
I'm glad you like it.
I went for years writing GDL code and having
to stop and solve for a certain variable.
As I am not a deft mathematician this was
time consuming. I finally sat down and wrote
this and it saves allot of time.
This little file does not figure anything out for you,
fear not, it just does some of the dumb work.
Thanks,

Just out of curiosity, being so close to home, have you ever been to Peyton Place? Not to far away from either of us. My wife and I go there quite often. Nice restaurant!
Hello Doug,
I have not heard of that restaurant.
I don't get out much because I am quite
pinned down caring for an aging relative.
I don't even know where Bath, New Hampshire is
so I'm going to look it up on Google.
Thanks,
