topic Zone Object? in Libraries & objects

<T>Hi All, Is there an object (zone object maybe) available that you put in a plan view to show room names with room sizes and will also show up in cross sections that cuts through it? So in cross sections, each room it cuts can show the name of that room.</T>

If you do not require the <S></S>Zone Area<E></E> in sections, the existing <S></S>Zone Tool<E></E> can be used in conjunction with the <S></S>Label Tool, Related Zone Name Autotext<E></E>, to show the <S></S>Zone Name<E></E> that objects in the section fall within. This becomes a limitation as objects can only belong to a single zone and sometimes there is nothing that you can reference in the section with the correct zone relation.
If I understand what you are saying that you are actually labeling the object that is in a zone, not the zone itself? Correct? Could a zone object be programed to do this? Also your workaround is in 22 right? can't work in 20.

Cheers, found that after your post, just a workaround. Quicker to just carry on manually inserting text room names in the section.

There is a wish that has been active since 2004 regarding the <S></S>Zone Tool<E></E> in sections. And another regarding it working in all views.
Regarding your original question about an object, I think the zone area and related commands are only available to the <S></S>Zone Tool<E></E>... If not, you might be able to make an empty fill box that utilises the zone specific commands in conjunction with 3D text to show the information you want.
