Thanks Peter!

Well, of course it's not all that simple. I appreciate the help.
I'm on the way over......

<R>Greetings GDL knowledgable -

I am not a GDL club member so please bare[sp?] with me, my request is probably simple for the initiated.............not for me. And so I'm hoping one of you empowered folks can "make me look good".

I want to insert code into a window, and then door part, save them as my own after the fact, to stretch the head piece of the trim to overhang the vertical trim pieces, both inside and out. [ exterior is my focus] This code, it seems to me is already within the part itself, just that it only applies to the sill and stool overhang. If I can I just want to apply that parameter to the top trim, outside the priority, and interior being a bonus.

Beyond that the ability to seperatly adjust the thickness, [in English , not Hungarian..... ], of the head trim pieces...........as in taking it from a 1x6 to a 2x6. My interpretation of thickness in AC window + door parts is the vertical profile of the piece not what I, and most caprenters, refer to as thickness. This would be REALLY cool!

Can Y'all help me?
[footnote: still working in 8.1, waiting on 10, ]</R>

Jeff,
The trim for doors and windows in the 8.1 library is handled
by a macro that is called by most door and window scripts.
The sill and stool are not part of the trim macro and is handled
by another macro.
Altering the trim macro's code would be difficult and would probably
result in many unintended and hard to detect consequences.

This is probably one reason you have not received any (so far)
return posts concerning your request.

There is a way to accomplish what you want without changing
the trim macro and involves adding four parameters
to the parameter lists of the door and window objects
and adding a block of code in the 3D scripts.

I would be pleased to send you the code and explain how to use it.
If you are interested please e-mail me privately.
