<T>I am having an error message come up any time I try to view my design in section. It says "divide by zero at line 39 of file m_Rail Balustrade.gsm" "Library part was not converted properly (ST01)"

If I delete the stair in my design I can look at the section, although it is not quite right, if I leave the stairs in the design, I get a section of a million lines going the wrong ways after a very long processing time for the image. Also, I am not able to view my 3D model if I have the objects visible. I am running ArchiCAD 9 student version on a Powerbook G4 with 1 Gb of ram, so, can anyone help me??? Please!!!</T>

m_Rail Balustrade is a macro object. It's used by the stair. Line 39 talks about baluster spacing. It's getting the idea that there are zero balusters, and when it tries to find the spacing, it divides by that zero.

There's also an independent railing object that uses that macro. 'Rail Balustrade' in 03 Concrete ( )/Concrete Structures/Stairmaker handrails. I tried to break that, but it seems to handle zero balusters OK, so the problem is probably in the stair's calling of the macro.

As you can see, this isn't a solution so much as a clue. I can't tell you exactly what to do, except to experiment with the baluster spacing.

Probably not much help,

Thanks for the tips James. I haven't solved the problem absolutely, but I am able to do what I need to do. I have deleted the stair that I think was causng the issue, but I still get the error message. Unfortunately, I can't give this problem my full attention, it will probably come back and bite me later. javascript:emoticon('')
