Hi fmr, muddasick,

to have a correct material definitions for each sub-object of an object, you need to have the original 3ds element created or subdivided by more sub-objects...

I downloaded some nice chairs from...

So your chairs need to have the fabric as sub-obj of the chair, and the legs another sub-obj, and so on.

<T>Hello,

Once you've downloaded and converted a 3ds. file into an object file, is there anyway to make the object not one material. I downloaded some nice chairs from e-interior.net and they converted fine, only thing is, they're all one material. I want the fabric to be one material and I want the lges to be another material. This is what it looks like on the image before I download it, is there anyway to do this?????

Thank You</T>

Hello Muddasick

Which version of ArchiCAd and which version of APi for 3DS Import do you use ?

I try with a seat at e-interior.net that i convert with 3DSKonverter and use with ArchiCAD 8.1. He works fine and i can change the parameters of the different materials define in the original 3DS object : one for the legs and an other for the rest of the seat without problem.
