CUTPOLYA cuts both ways

I am trying to get CUTPOLYA to cut a half-infinite tube. It seems that no matter where I move the cutting plane relative to the coordinates it wants to cut both ways. (Using Version 8.1r2)

Any ideas?

What is the CUTPOLA command's "d" parameter set to ?
If it is set to "0" the the cut will be infinite in both directions.
