Yep. That was my "tip of the month" object a while back.

Do you have a sketch of what you want? I could probably talk you through modifying it pretty easily. It sounds mostly like we need to delete the LINE2 statement that is the center line and change the TEXT2 statement for the sheet number to 0,0.

I can tell you more after I see your sketch (and get some sleep).

<T>I'm in desperate need of a better interior elevation symbol --one that has linking to PM via sheet and drawing number, but which (crucially) can be rotated without the text going sideways. Also, it needs to have the drawing # at one point. See the sketch, below.

Has anyone made or seen such a beast? For me the "Interior elevation tool" doesn't cut it (no live linking to the sheets). My hope with this is that I can use the section tool and overlap as many section markers as req'd (up to 4) to elevate the interior walls I need.

Willing to buy, just haven't found it yet.... Unfortunately I don't have the GDL chops to make this myself. Any info greatly appreciated.</T>

The attached symbol is close (I downloaded it from this forum but can't find the reply again, sorry). I would actually prefer it to be simpler with just the sheet number in the center and the drawing number in the arrow. It seems like it should be a simple edit but I'm still new to this and can't figure it out.

Is this your first GDL modification? It's not a hard one, but markers are a bit strange so the code is not as straight-forward as most are. This was also something I modified from a GS object. I tend to code a lot cleaner than this!

In the name of making this a learning experience, what have you tried so far?

Whenever I modify an object I am not familiar with, I start with figuring out generally what needs to be done.

From a conceptual standapoint, you need to:
1) Remove the line across the middle (remove a LINE2 statement)
2) Move the Sheet Number to the center of the box (which means removing an ADD2 statement and its corresponding DEL 1 statement, then changing the text STYLE to be middle-center justified (anchor 5 instead of 2)
3) Change the text in the arrow point to be the drawing number instead of the sheet number. (alter the TEXT2 statement to use the drawing number instead of the arrow text)

If you do not have any GDL experience, this might be a bit challenging, but the code has several comments in it (lines starting with an exclamation point) that might help you find your way around. If you have an hour or so to try it, I really recommend it. I think GDL is the most powerful feature of Archicad and the least used.

By resize, do you mean resize at different scales, or do you mean resize using the resize command?

This is what I have put together using elevation markers. It works well but it takes up some space which in a small room can be hard to fit it in with other annotations etc, especially if you need all four walls. The one I wish I could have is identical to interior elevation marker on Archi User 77 attached PDF (index sheet).
