Floor Metal Deck?

Hi,
I am looking for object or add-on that provides me with Floor Metal Deck capabilities. Can not find it in AC9 library or ObjectsOnlie, any hints?

Someone from UK might know what happened with the libraries that were developed for British Steel if I remember correctly some five years ago?

I don't know of the Brittish Steel objects that Djordje mentions but we made a 2d object that draws Speedeck metal roof profiles which would be easy enough to adapt for what you want.

Or is it a 3d object you want?

I would like it to be 3d so it will show-up in sections but if it is not around the 2d would be ok; would appreciate if you could direct me to it.

Yo Joseph, ever find anything to fill your need? I’m looking for a 3D pan deck with a cross section like the Metal Deck Form NCS 2D object. I will dive in a make one if need be but am surprised that I can’t find one out there anywhere.

No, I have not found one and still waiting and looking.I am not such a good GDL scripter yet, that is why I have not taken the challenge yet!

I’m not much of a scripter either but did hack together a pan deck object. Rather crude yet so I’m happy if someone here wants to improve it. Please find it attached. HTH.

and in order to get good sections, i guess you would have to use SEO and take the roof accessory at 0º pitch away from the slab? is that what you're after?

not especially the brightest of solutions is it? anybody care to make a slab accessory?

Obviously, it's a roof's accessory but the shape can be the same.

I've made some accessories, isn't difficult but now I've not time (perhaps next week).

any chance you could put the deck under the slab and 'subtract with downward extrusion' at the same time?

Hi Ben,

the ArchiCAD accessory technology can be used with slabs, roofs, walls and zones as well as drawing 'on the fly' the polygon shape (or using the Magic Wand).

Of course the host element (slab. roof, wall, zone) can be hide (layer settings) and the position of the 'child' element (I mean the accessory element, in this case the deck) can be freely defined by the user using the host element shape as reference.

ArchiCAD accessory technology is a very good way to collect data info from your project and use them as base for your parametric objects.

Since Fabrizio brought it up, I would like to take this opportunity to ask GS to provide us a general ADD-ONS to allow user to collect data info from the project and use them as base for creating parametric objects.

Also, GS please publish document to explain the Parameters used in the Accessories Objects so that we don't have to dig deep into the scripts to find out ourselves. It's kind of time consuming.

I've done some objects that make use of the Slab Accessories' functionalities.

More than two years after, these ac_params for subtypes are still not documented!
Why?

Ranting again, is AC competency challenge such a higher priority?
No more bugs to fix?

YOU BLOKES HAVE GIVEN ME AN IDEA RE TIMBER DECK WITH SPACES BETWEEN DECKING - BUT PARTICULARLY WHEN THE DECK IS AN AWKWARD SHAPE BUT WITH THE DECKING RUNNING AT THE SAME DIRECTION.
Form the shape with a slab/roof/mesh as you prefer, then use the 3d Roof Battens library part to SEO subtract the 'spaces out between the decking boards'. I tried it and it works an absolute treat! Beats trying to use the 3d Roof Battens by themselves.
