topic copy Parameters in Libraries & objects

<R>Is there any way to copy individual Parameters or the entire list? (not talking about the Parameters Script)

or

Is there any way of saving a Library Part as a v7 compatible one (if there are no new GDL commands incompatible with 7 in it)?

Here's my problem:

An old project (v7) has reopened and it uses an office custom window part. At some stage since this project was put on hold this v7 library part has been opened in 8 and saved ... so now none of our old projects will read it! I've looked through the script and there is nothing actually new in it which would make it incompatible with 7. I've not yet managed to find a backup of the part before the v8 save was made (back to Oct 2003 so far and still going), so may need to rebuild it as v7 by copy-pasting the bits of the script into a new part made in 7 then saving over it .... fairly quick BUT there are A LOT of Parameters, which are the most annoyingly slow things to modify (get them sorted, etc). This is going to be a slow and tedious process and susceptible to errors when re-entering all of the Parameters so if anyone has any suggestions they'd be GREATLY appreciated.

cheers
This won't help with the problem at hand but will help prevent a recurrance.

We name all our custom symbols according to the AC package currently used - for example A-NAME_70.gsm denotes a symbol of AC Version 7. When upgrading to Version 8, we saved the customized v7 symbols and duplicate the symbol names to A-NAME_81.gsm before upgrading to the new version. These can then be customized to utilize the newer features of the upgrade without fear of killing legacy projects.

As most offices only have a few dozen customized symbols, it doesn't take very long to rename.

There are also file renaming utilities that can help with this, if there are a lot of them to do.
