topic Re: Cupola in Libraries & objects

I have never seen two cupolas alike in all the firms with whom I've worked. For this reason I don't think library parts are an appropriate way to model them. They are complex assemblies with too many variables and too many different styles to reasonably program in GDL.

I recommend building the cupola from walls, roofs, windows, etc. and storing it (and any others you make) as a module to reuse and modify in the future.

I have also found that making cupolas is a great training device for interns and apprentice Architects. They involve the use of most of the modeling tools, and allow the completion of an accurately modeled and highly detailed finished product in a relatively short period of time. It can also provide an excellent snapshot of the design review process.

Look at the Geometric Methods of the Roof Tool.
Or at the objects in the folder: 1.5 Special Constructions / Basic Shapes
I didn't find a Cupola in either one of these places. I realize there's "work-arounds", but I just wondered if there was a Cupola already made in the library.

Thanks anyways.
