<T>Is there any way to cut/call a door or window in an Object?

We are using a type of pre-fab wall system, that I was going to try to create an object that has all the joints and contruction in it. I had considered making the plans and elevations from this object instead of composite walls with 2D linework added for sections.

Our big hold-up is that I cannot figure out a way to cut window openings in the object.

I'm guessing this is not possible.</T>

Tom,

There is a way... sort of.

Subtract a piece of wall from the object and place the window in it.

A little clunky but it should work.

it would work.... I was just hoping to be able to get the object to detect the window, then frame around it....

Geoff

that looks like it does the FORM of the panel, but not actually create any framing/construction inside it.

Is that correct?

As far as I know that is correct. I’ll know more next week as I’m going to demo orbit’s stuff for the users group.
If you are programming the object - then why not programme the window/door too? Maybe you could borrow the script from a Archicad window/door and past it in. But otherwise window/doors will only place into walls I am afraid.
