<T>One of my students write to me (DNC):

> Just a small question: is there a limit in the number of objects that can be
> used within an onject when you save it directly from the 3d window in
> archicad? It's just that I was trying to build an archicad model of my
> structure and so built one floor of my skyscraper using universal columns and
> universal beams form the archicad library. When I came to save the entire
> floor as an object it said that errors had occured in the 3d script, and when
> I opened the script and checked it, it claimed that there were too many
> parameters in the section where it called the beams and columns from the
> library.. hmm... I'm confused and am not sure why this is happening and it's
> really frustrating!

I replied that this often happens to me. In fact very often. Its very VERY frustrating. EG, recently i wrote a Cutter object that cuts through the entire building, but you need to save the entire building as an object and call it.
the only problem is that the cutter doesnt cut binarys, and if you try to save it as editable, this problem occurs. So the cutter is a hit or miss thing - you are dependent on the bugs in the Beam and column library objects.

I can remember this problem going back a long way.
Similar things have happened to me in 6.0, 6.5. Not sure about 7. But this is a consistent problem in 8.
Saving in Binary usually works for objects. but then you cant cut them or edit the script.</T>

Yes I've noticed it is not uncommon for Archicad to generate scripts that dont run properly, even to the extent I had to delete a comma at the end of a huge number of call statements to get the damn thing to work.
