topic Objects & Nodes in Libraries & objects

<T>Hi,
i'm finding that when i make certain things into 3D objects, the corner nodes do not always appear at the corner of the object making it extremely difficult to place them accurately.

In the attached example i created a simple ramp with side rails which should slot into a hole in the floor but the nodes are not at the corners of the ramp/rail and therefore i cannot place it properly.

Am i doing something wrong or is there a trick i'm missing when creating the objects?

thanks,
I've had similar problems when working with sloped objects in 3D.

I found it easier to use a SPHERE command using the coordinates for your hotspots in an ADD command:

ADD x, y, z
SPHERE 0.25"
DEL 1

Then when you're done, change the ADD to a HOTSPOT command, delete the SPHERE and DEL commands.

Thanks for the advice Sean,
i know its been a while since your reply but this is something i'm just working on in my spare time.

I should have said that i'm still a bit of a beginner and the whole scripting thing is still a bit of a mystery to me.

I dont quite understand what it is your telling me to do, any further advice on the subject?

Thanks
