This is something I would love to know how to accomplish as well, so far I have just made my own custom panels to substitute in pocket and bifold doors, but that feels rather tedious when the exact door panel I want is already present in another door type. If anyone has any tips on how to add a panel type to bifold and pocket doors, or how to isolate a door panel as an individual object, it would be greatly appreciated

<T>In AC8/AC8.1 you can create custom panels, but ... is there any way to use in sliding/bifold doors panels from other door types (D181 have 28 types). Sometimes we need type that is already there. How to make it ?</T>

the different door panels are requested using the "call' command. look in the GDL manual

example

<S></S>call "the name of the custom panel" parameters a=a, b=b <E></E>

the last section is assigning the parameters. Add as many as needed. If not listed then the default is used. Open up a door object which uses a panel you want to use. See if you can find it in the 3d script window and then try to apply it to the bifold door

When you say to find the script in another object, do you mean to find it and copy it into the bi fold... door object? Please keep in mind I am a GDL idiot, I am starting to learn, but have not even gotten my 2D object to work right yet, although they are getting closer to what I want.

Any further detail into how to make this work would be great, I will start to try stumbling through it myself, though

if you have a custom door panel just try the call command and see what happens. With out seeing the scripts it is hard to advise further

This has been driving me nuts as well. There is no default all glass/alu garage door that looks like something you would find in a cafe storefront.

I want the object to show with the 'X' marker, showing where the door opens over the floorspace, and I can see in panel subtypes, there is an empty option stating 'custom' - I have fiddled with its parameters, but still, no doorpanel shows, I have also looked at how to create doors/windows, but I want that preexisting door, just with a different/custom panel - can I make a panel in floorplan, and somehow save it as an object and 'Call' it in the GDL script to accomplish that end??

You can but it wont have the "x" lines, They would need to be added using the 3d line command (Lin_ x,y,z,x1,y1,z1)
