Request parameters from placed objects?

<T>Hello,
We have an object where we want to be able to calculate the total of a variable if multiple versions of the objects are placed. For example a parking bay object, might have 3 bays and another might have 5, I would like the object to calculate the total number of bays. The only way I can imagine this working is to be able to identify the parameter from the object which is why I thought of a Request command. Any thoughts as to if I can get this to work?

Thanks!</T>

Objects can't talk to each other.

I think you have 2 choices.

1. Have your parking bays output to a text file and then have another object that can read from that text file and total the figures.
Won't be 100% live - you may have to re-build and re-generate.

2. create an interactive Schedule that counts the number of bays parameter and totals them.
Then create a view of the schedule and display this it on a layout page (can't be displayed on the plan or any other view).
