I was of the belief that everything that was in the 27 library is there in the 28 library as well, with a few extra objects as well.

If there are objects missing can you show what they were in 27 and what part of the library they were from?

Also, if you have favourites for 27 objects, they can be converted to 28 favourites - assuming those objects do exist in 28.

LibPack Questions

is there a trick to getting LibPacks to work as BIMcloud libraries? I have them loaded individually, since it seems putting them in a folder doesn't work. But I can not access the libpack content in a t/w file. whats the trick.
I'm sure this new system was done to make things easier, but right now, it's only confusing and making things so much more difficult...

Operating system used: Mac Apple Silicon

Also, why, when I load my 'company library' to the BIMcloud, does it dump all sub-folders, instead of keeping them contained by the company name? I don't want to see 00 General - company name, 06 Wood and Plastic - company name, etc. etc. They are in a containing folder on the server library list.
Navigation to objects has become borderline impossible. making heads or tails of repairing missing library parts when from difficult to infuriating.

At this point, I'm very tempted to just nuke all the libpacks from the bim server and upload the AC27 libraries instead... This really feels like 1 step forward, 20 steps back

last thought... I totally get that the rest of the world doesn't use CSI divisions... but we do. It's been a key organizational factor for every template I've built in the last 15+ years... and now I have all the AC stuff sitting here with 1.7, 1.8, 1.... blah. It's meaningless to me

I don't know much about BIMcloud as I don't use it, but I believe you load the library packs in BIMcloud just as you do other libraries (but you must load the individual library packs - not the folder they are in).

And as for your company library, if you mean it seems to be dropping the main folder and just showing the sub-folders, that is an issue that has been noted already.

https://community.graphisoft.com/t5/Libraries-objects/Updating-Pre-28-Custom-Company-Library-Objects-to-be/m-p/634705/highlight/true#M45807

No idea if it will be fixed.

The only work around I know is to duplicate the main library folder.

So ... Office Library > Office Library > Sub Folders.

Then you load the first 'Office Library' folder and it will now show the second.

I have no idea about the exhaust fan & smoke detector.

The new 28 libraries should be the same objects that were in 27.

I see plenty when I search, but have no idea if they are what you want.

there was a scramble to get a lot of detail objects at the last minute. They dropped the 2d detail hangers, lumber, etc...

typically, I just have favorites for primary starting points, but given the lack of clear navigability of this library structure, I'm going to be building out 2,500+ object favorites and telling my staff to ONLY navigate via favorites moving forward. Super excited to be spending the next couple weeks on that!

sort of. I've had to export an piece together missing parts from older libraries and embed them in my template.
