Stretching 2D Objects without Scripting

Hello,

I've been saving basic fills and lines as 2d objects and would like for them all to be stretchable. However, when some are saved as objects, a stretching function shows up on my pet palette (which I want), and at other times, the saved object does not give me that function. All of these objects are saved in the same consistent way - with hotspots on each corner. The complexity of the object doesn't seem to matter, as some objects built from single fills are not stretchable, and some objects built from multiple are, and vice-versa. I don't have any knowledge of GDL, but I did scan the parameters of each object just to check for basic differences in the scripting of similar objects that aren't behaving the same way and couldn't identify anything. I attached a few images that hopefully illustrate my problem better. Any help would be very appreciated.
