You can change this by using the “Library Localization Preferences”. To access this menu, follow these steps:

Go to the menu bar and select Window > Toolbars > Edit GDL Library Parts.

In the toolbar that appears, click the first icon on the left.

From the dropdown menu, select “Library Localization Preferences…”.

In this menu, you can select the desired language in the left column, and add the desired language to the right side column.

I believe that if both French and German are added to the right column, you should be able to drag up or down to set which one takes priority. If this doesn’t work, a workaround is to leave your template without a localization. When starting a new project, the user can apply the desired language as the first step.

We are trying to establish a new template compatible with Archicad 28, specifically the new "global library".

We were eagerly awaiting this update because, in our office, where we sometimes speak French and sometimes German, we constantly struggle to decide which library to use for a project (FRA or GER). With this new library, we thought the issue would be resolved and that the library's language would depend on the installation language of Archicad.

However, after several tests, it seems that it mainly depends on the base language of the template, doesn't it?

So, the idea of having a library language independent of the base template's language is still not a reality with Archicad 28? Or did we miss something?

Thank you in advance for your clarification!

Operating system used: Windows 11 24H2

Indeed, we managed to change the language using the "Library Localization Preferences". However, once we select a preferred language for the project, it seems that it is not possible to have both languages simultaneously in the project, correct?

Actually, it would be ideal for us if we could manage the following situation:

In a teamwork project with the new Global Library, with FRA and GER selected in the "Library Localization Preferences":

A French coworker could see the Global Library displayed in French on their computer (using the French version of Archicad),

And at the same time, a German coworker could see the Global Library displayed in German (using the German version of Archicad).

And this automatically, depending on the language of the software, without manually changing it in the "Library Localization Preferences".

Is it possible to achieve this with the new Archicad 28 and the new Global Library?

I don't think you can have two standards running simultaneously on one project, this seems like it's a "template" level change and not a "User Pref" change. Maybe someone from Graphisoft can confirm, but it sounds like what you are asking for is unlikely to be the case. Maybe submit as wish?
