I was looking for an answer to this as well. It would be great if there was just a general "Marker settings" checkbox in Element transfer settings under Door/Window for this. I am on version 24, has this improved in later versions?

Editing to note: Seeing what development has happened with zones and labels, and seeing that there is some kind of door/window label in the library, is it actually so that a door/window marker is considered a "legacy feature", and the supported workflow is actually to use labels instead of the markers?

<T>Hello,
I am trying to find a simple way to copy the marker settings from one type of window to another (also for doors to). Eyedropper/Syringe changes the window type, which I do not want to do.

Is there an easy way w/o editing each different window/door type?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
I think what Peter refers to is that there is no way to transfer only the Marker settings from one Door to the other.
You can use CTLR-ALT-click to transfer attributes, but that will transfer all attributes, including the Marker settings.
But what if you Door is fine with all its settings you just want to transfer the Marker settings from another Door? It is only possible to do by setting all values of the Marker one by one. Door/Window Markers do not have Favorites.

The only workaround I can think of is that you open the Marker for editing (use the Open by Subtype command - its menu command is not part of the default Work Environment, but it can be found on the Edit GDL Library Parts toolbar. Then set the default parameters to your liking and save it under a new name.
Do this as many times as you need different Door Markers.
Then you can do what Matthew wrote: select a different Marker which will come in with its default settings, which are the ones you set to your liking.

Another thing is that a Door/Window Marker will not appear in any object setting dialog but it will appear in the list of selectable markers in the Dimension Marker panel of the Door/Window Settings Dialog.
Is the marker of the Window-Door Marker subtype (see Duane's Placeable.jpg from Fri Dec 05, 2008 5:08 pm)?

You should add a Signature to your Profile (click the Profile button near the top of this page) with your ArchiCAD version and operating system (see mine for an example) for more accurate help in this forum.
Yes, that is a necessary thing, otherwise ArchiCAD will not know that it has to display it when you are viewing or searching for Door-Window Markers.
See, ArchiCAD is coded to display in the Marker panel of the Door/Window Settings Dialog only those Library Parts that have that specific Subtype.
That's how it works.
