What ever storey you are in in plan view when you switch to 3D, is the storey the window will be placed in in 3D.
However you can drag the window as you wish.
It will remain linked to the storey it was placed in until you re-link it.

<T>It seems I can only place windows and doors successfully on plan views.
I've been able to place them on 3D views too, but the door / window's associated storey seems random.

2) Can I place door / windows in elevation view?</T>
