<R>While on the architectural floor plan is on layout book it is preferable to have "off" - Hide Marker on Plan.

However when in the same set of drawings, let's say the electrical plan, the opposite is desired to have all markers "on" - Hide Marker on Plan.

One can manually set to update plans so that markers do not suddenly appear. But when the database has them illustrated on the architectural floor plan and one forgets, then markers will appeared on a manually updated electrical plan when not desire. Layer combinations have no control over this issue.

Are there other toggles that do control this inefficient method of turning on and off markers for various elements?</R>

Control this with Model View Options, which should be set with your saved View (along with Layer Combination, Scale, Pen sets etc) then placed on the Layout. MVO with markers ON for construction floor plan or reference plan, and MVO with markers OFF for electrical and other plans that do not require them.
Note that saved Views should not have any settings showing as Custom, as they are very hard to keep up to date.
