Once the schedule is made a View, it has View settings similar to a plan or elevation. With the schedule selected in the View map, click on Settings, here you will be able to set a Dimensions preference. The Dimension preferences are set up under Project Preferences > Dimensions.

<T>the door schedule is showing the door thickness as 1 1/2" but its a 1 3/8 door. Even when i click on the thickness dimension in the schedule it shows up as 1 3/8 then it jumps back to 1 1/2" What's going on? How do I get it to list the door as it actually is?</T>

Have you checked the precision of calculation units in the preferences?
I checked some precision preferences for the project as a whole. Which preferences are you thinking of?
