an unusual request here.

Kolbe windows and Doors, one of the premier window and door manufacturers in North America is conducting a survey about 3D cad programs in an attempt to determine the software(s) for its 3D window and door libraries. My feeling from previuos discussions w/ them is that they haven't a clue about Archicad.

Those of us who struggle trying to make other library parts conform to Kolbe windows would be greatly appreciative if the response is great enough to get an Archicad library produced!

I did as well. With a little pep talk about how important quality libraries are for assisting people who want to design with and specify their products.

Hopefully many more will respond and we WILL get those quality library parts that everyone needs!

Come on everyone-- fill out the survey and let suppliers like Kolbe know that Autocad is not the only CAD program out there.

I responded too. I can't wait for the day when all manufacturer's supply us with quality library parts or our models. Let's make our voices heard to hasten this dream.

So did I. I wonder how much Graphisoft is getting out there to forge alliances with the major manufacturers, like TrusJoist. Having accurate library content is as strong a selling point for the software as "user friendliness", etc. Frankly, I see other 3D CAD programs getting out there and encouraging manufacturer content, and if Graphisoft drops this aspect, they will be left in the dust. If most of the manufacturers I use are available on Revit, but not Archicad, then I would start looking at Revit very seriously.
