topic 3-d Details - Using walls, beams, columns, etc. in details in Libraries & objects

<T>Not sure what other people think about this view:
Before the details tool was introduced, I got in the habit of using 3-d tools (ie walls, beams, etc) for 2-d details. This gave me parametric option on my 2-d details. I would for example use the wall tool for door frame elevations or flashing sections. This gave me the option of quickly adapting shape, thicknesses, fills, etc, allowing details to be quickly drawn up. If I ever wanted to, I could even convert them to 3-d objects.

The detail tool does not allow the use of the 3-d tools. There are workarounds, but given the convenience, shouldn't one be allowed to do so?</T>
