I think maybe it was a PC based add-on that may not work on a mac.

<T>I wanted some door settings from other file so I selected the wall that had the door I wanted from an ArchiCAD 10 file. Pasted it into the new ArchiCAD 11 (1033) file. Used Alt to get the settings and placed the door.

Went about my work for a while as usual no problems until I deleted the stuff I pasted into my new drawing. It crashes every time I do this.

Paste from old file into new drawing and then delete it.

Does this happen to anyone else ?</T>

Steve,
We don't have the exact issue as you, but there are some similarities between us. In our case, AC11 now crashes each and every time a zoom is performed within a section window. It makes no difference if the zoom is initiated using the zoom tool or shortcut.

This just started after a wall with a window was pasted from an AC10 file, the same as in your case. The 11 file behaved normally before executing the paste, but afterwards the wheels have come off. I have applied a New & Reset All, deleted the pref and cache files and frequently rebooted my workstation, but the issue is still there. Please note though, in our case the 10 window was deleted without a crash.
tech support says they could not reproduce the crash.

Playing around with it a little I have discovered that it is only when I delete an object from the ArchiCAD 10 file that has been pasted into 11 that is will crash.

I pasted into 11 from 10 a wall, lines, arcs, fills, notes, etc...
Any of these items can be deleted from 11 without a crash except objects.

Delete any wall, window, door, Detailer part...anything like that and it will crash. Also, if I explode any object from this 10 file it will crash.

I tried this with a new 10 and 11 files and could not reproduce the crash.

I think it must be a bad file problem.

I have a similar problem.
I have files that were originated in AC10. these have now been saved as version 11 files.
If I paste anything from the residual 10 to 11 file into a new from 11 file and delete it again from the new 11 file. guarenteed it will crash the newer file.

How do you fix this?

What a stuff-up!
My AC11 is crashing constantly, library objects, created for a particularly project, and working perfectly last week, sudden appear "wrongly converted" and now take 24 mins to regenerate and all the sections and elevations and perspectives created only last week to explain the project to the client have become unuseable.
What has changed? Could it be 'hotfix 1033'?
Could I bill Graphisoft for the time we are wasting?
Revit is looking better all the time!

I got a bit excited there!

Found out that, since the upgrade, our special libraries - including CadImage - were no longer where archicad thought they were. I've put them back and most things are now OK so far as library objects are concerned.

Yep, am having lots of the same problems here. I have updated AC11 in accordance with the most recent posts from GS and have the latest drivers for my graphics card and version of Quicktime and still the program is constantly crashing.

One thing i noticed...i was using ArchiStair ramps as SEO objects on curved walls containing a staircase and these ramps are automatically assigned to the Stairs layer. When I tried to change the layer name so that I could switch em off...AC11 crashed. So...I saved the file as an AC10 file...renamed the layers in AC10 and opened this file in AC11 and voila...problem solved....it seems a ridulously long winded workaround though.

Have also had to switch off the Update Autorebuild Model viewpoints continuously setting in order to avoid the slowdown in screen image regeneration.

All in all considering the amount of time wasted dealing with these issues I am not impressed with AC11 to date.

Having said all that if anyone has any constructive suggestions that might help I would be very grateful

crashing between 3d window and floor plan;
selecting a mesh or similar on the plan view, hit f4 to get 3d window of the mesh works fine, but if you mouse click on the plan view then archicad 11 hangs, and i have to force quit. some one in the office said you have to go back to plan by hitting f2 key. why is this, mouse click to activate floor plan window should work as well, just like it used to!
