I am not familiar with the australian library but in the US library there is a setting to show all hotspots (in the 2D tab) which is off by default.

<T>I'm having time consuming issues with drawing customized windows and doors. I would like to draw a window/door unit with double swinging doors, with various window panels of different widths within the same unit separated my mullions. I have tried using the hotspots to alter widths of individual panels once I have placed the unit in plan, but have had no luck. Please help!!</T>

Some more info might help, like AC version, Door / Window parts you are using etc. A screenshot might help too.

(A good idea to put AC version, machine specs etc in your signature in your profile, before you suffer the wrath of Djordje, and his New Year's Resolution)
