What am I missing? Is is a command that I have to add? I like to be able to alter direction of walls so that door label text reads correctly.
its default position on my version was under the 'Modify Wall' submenu in the 'Edit' menu. you may not be seeing it because it's turned off in your work environment profile. try switching to the advanced 'command layout scheme' and seeing if it shows up . . .
Don,
Since I did not know which version of AC you are using I assumed
you were in 8.1.
I looked in AC 9 for Modify Wall and find the same thing as you do.
Modify Wall is not in the Edit menu or the Tools menu though it is
listed as a loaded add-on in the add-on manager.

In the AC 9 manual it says:

Modify Wall Geometry (Add-On)
Note: This tool is not visible in the Standard profile interface. You
can add it to the edit menu (or any other menu) by customizing
the menu scheme in Options > Work Environment > Command
Layout Schemes > Menus; or by applying the Expert scheme in
the Scheme Options dialog box (Command Layout Schemes)

If I try to "customize" the menu scheme the Modify Wall does not
appear in the list.
The "Expert" scheme is not one the predefined schemes in my
version of AC 9 (US).

So, I am having the same problem you are.
I hope someone can help us.
Hello Ben,
Please see attached image.
You will notice that my setup differs from yours.
On the right side after trim to roof the next item is add-on commands.
On the left side after model pictures is modules and xrefs.
This is different than your setup. There is no "Modify Wall" in
either list.
Thank you,
ok. try sorting your work environment commands by 'All Commands in Alphabetical Order' and searching for "Structure...", "Reference Line..." and "Invert Direction" as these are the <S></S>actual<E></E> names of the commands that are found within the 'Modify Wall' submenu.

if these are present, create yourself a new menu, call it 'Modify Wall' and place those three commands in it. you'll then be able to add it as a submenu wherever you choose.

if they aren't present, i'm totally stumped and you'll need to speak to GS tech or someone . . .

by the way - your last screenshot just showed where the add-on resided on your system, whilst mine also displayed the commands locations on the UI. this makes me think that it's actually a WE profile issue. i've zipped and attached here the INT 'Expert' profile. see if that helps?

good luck!
Thank you for replying.
I did notice the difference between the two Add-On Manager images
I tried sorting with alphabetical order selected but there are no
such commands listed.

I down loaded you Expert 9.zip and expanded it.
It contains several .xml files and when opened show long lists of numbers
How do I use these files ?
Where do I put them ?
I apologies for my ignorance

Peter wrote:
How do I use these files ?

in your "Work Environment Profiles" dialogue, right at the top of the list in the WE dialogue well, choose 'Import'. navigate to the folder that was created when you unzipped my file and click 'Choose'.

you should now be presented with a dialogue that tells you AC has found several 'schemes' in that folder. continue to click OK to import them.

once this has completed you should see a new profile in the 'Stored Profiles' list . . . select it the newly created 'Expert 9' profile, click the button to 'Apply Schemes of Profile' and voilá.

BUT - if you're not even seeing those commands in your list, i very much doubt that this will do any good anyway.

try unloading that add-on by manually moving it out of the add-ons folder and relaunching archiCAD. then use the add-on manager to add it from the location you moved it to. during the process, add-on manager should tell you whereabouts it's stored the commands . . .

keep me posted.
Don and others using the US version of AC 9,

I posted a description of the problem to David Tauer at
Graphisoft US Technical Support and he posted back
that the "US Standard User Preferences 9" predefined scheme
is the equivalent of "Expert" in the Aus version and
presumably the Int version.
I selected "US Standard User Preferences 9" and Modify Wall
showed up in the edit menu.
The manual does not say that "US Standard User Preferences 9"
is equivalent to "Expert" in the Int and Aus versions.
According to the manual ,"Expert" allows access to all AC functions.
I had another predefined scheme selected thinking it was the equivalent.
So, thanks to Ben and David problem solved in two ways.
Thank you,
