topic Zones-associating windows and doors to correct Zone in Libraries & objects

<T>When I'm working in I/S to create schedules (door, window, finish etc) one parameter is "Zone name". I am having trouble getting the door/window/room to correctly read from the Room Zone layer unless I move the Area Zones away from the building.

- I have the Area Zone layer turned off and its layer intersection number different from Room Zones and walls.

I have 2 zone layers.
Areas zones are on one layer for habitable space vs. non-habitable.
Room Zones are on a second layer with one zone for each room.
ergo if all zones were to show, the Area zones defined by the exterior face of the exterior walls would cover the Room zones which are defined by the inside face of the room they depict.

How do I not have to move the Area Zones to get my Schedules to read from the correct Room Zone?</T>

Persevering, after reading Laszlo Nagy's excellent Listing Parameters Article:
<LINK_TEXT text="http://www.graphisoft.com/support/archi ... eters.html">http://www.graphisoft.com/support/archicad/archiguide/listingparameters.html</LINK_TEXT>

...it occurred to me that I was not making use of the "criteria" in the Schedule Settings window of I/S (General tab) for further defining my schedule(s). Also reviewing my notes from Karl's class at ACUWest....

Solution 1: I moved the area zones (habitable/non-habitable) to another story (in this case I put it on the foundation story "-1") and then limited my stories to the stories I wanted those with rooms. In this case it is a one-story house so I selected story = "0" .

Solution 2: I restricted by the zone stamp name using different zone stamps (zone stamps are a type of library part).

Solution 3: restrict by Layer of the zones I wanted
