Mica wrote:
How do we cut holes in canted walls for doors and windows?

How are you doing the canted wall?

1. Wall Extras - API takes care of it, and makes the hole for any door or window placed in the original wall

2. ArchiWall - same

3. Walls trimmed with roofs/or SEO used (see previous topic and Dwight's advice at <LINK_TEXT text="http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/vie ... php?t=2308">http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=2308</LINK_TEXT>); should work without problem as any normal wall

4. Roofs acting as walls - no dice; you have to SEO stuff out. Tip: If you do make a canted wall with the roof tool, place doors and windows as needed in walls exactly the size of doors/windows, and then SEO these walls out of the roof. Should look OK in section, elevation and 3D, although the plan might need tweaking.

The SEO method remains the most adaptable since the actual wall and window combination are cut in place, not some tilted external skin that cannot support a window, the origin wall of which must be later hidden.

OF course, this method - since the actual wall is cut - allows for easy edits of window and window position changes while maintaining the cut angle.
