Opening Tool and wall accessories

Hey everyone,

I've made a wall accessory that seems to work great in ArchiCAD but then I ran into a bit of a problem.

When adding an opening in the wall USING THE OPENING TOOL, it doesn't update my wall accessory.

I thought that I've made a mistake somewhere but when I tried with an ArchiCAD wall accessory it still didn't update.

FYI, tha wall accessory does update with doors and windows

My question is : Is it possible to have wall accessories that update, not only with doors and windows but also, with any type of opening in wall ?

I can settle for openings made with the opening tool as well as doors and windows

I also tried with ArchiCAD 26 (5003) and 27 (5060), same result

MacOS 15.3.2 Sonoma, Apple Silicon

AC28 4100

AC27 5060

AC26 5003

Operating system used: Mac Apple Silicon 15.3.2

Yeah that's a limitation of the underlying data structure. The wall does not know about the opening, just about the holes from the windows and doors it hosts (and so the linked accessoire can't know about it either).

Openings in general only work in Walls, Slabs, Meshs, or Beams. And since the wall accessoire is technically just an Object, we can not even "cheat" here by manually linking the Opening... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Would it be possible to modify the tool itself so that it can be used with more elements ?

Thanks for the answer.

As a solution, I made a quick rounded windows, no frame, no glass, so it passes through everything.

Change the ID and voilà. Good enough for now

All the GS Wall Accessories are part of the Goodies Suite right? Part of GSs legacy features that have been left behind...
