Sorry about that, the image didn't load when I added it last time. See attached image

Again the one on the left is the standard Archicad 28 template Library manager looking at the Appliances.lipbak

And the one of the right is my Archicad 27 template, which i converted to Archicad 28, looking at the Appliances.lipbak

For some reason the standard template continuous to use the commonly seen folder structure here in North America:

00 General

 Detailer Library

 Drawing Symbols

 People

03 Concrete

 03 30 00 Cast-In-Place Concrete

 03 40 00 Precast Concrete

04 Masonry

 01 20 00 Unit Masonry

05 Metals

 05 20 00 Metal Joists

 05 50 00 Metal Fabrications

06 Wood and Plastic

... etc.

However, the template that I converted from 27 to 28, following the instructions provided, has dropped all those sub-folder names and now just uses:

1. BASIC LIBRARY

 1.1 Furnishings

 1.2 Doors USA

 1.3 Windows

 1.4 Building Structures

 1.5 ...

2.

In the picture attached I have two instances of Archicad open.

The one on the right is the library manager from my ArchiCad 27 Template converted to ArchiCad 28.

The one on the left is the library manager from the standard ArchiCad 28 template.

For some reason my 27 template that i converted to 28 (while following the steps provided here: Migrating to Archicad 28: A Guide to Global Library Changes) has access to all the library packs that it is supposed too, however it removed all the sub-folder names and numbers

(ie. the "11 Equipment" folder v.s. the "1.1 furnishing" folder, even though both are looking at the Appliances libpack)

This really irritates my drafting manager as now all the libraries have moved around.

Is there a reason this happens? Or a solution to fix it?

Operating system used: Windows

Your 28 template would have been set up to use the USA localisation.

You 27 file that you have converted will not.

Open the 'Edit GDL Library Parts' palette and find the 'Library Localisation preferences..'

option.

Then add USA to the preference list.

Now see what happens.

I am hoping that is it.

Barry.

Thank you Barry! Fixed it perfectly.

I really didn't want to have to re-do my template from a stock 28.

Very very helpful!
