Curtain Wall - Box profile frame wall and drywall / Custom Profile Frame İssue

Greetings everyone;

I'm trying to build a wall, using box profile construction. I'm planning it with 40x40x2mm carrier profiles (1 per 100 axes) and 40x40x2mm hatching profiles (1 per 40 axes). I created the 40*40*2mm profile using Profile Manager and defined it in Curtain Wall Frames.

I want the profiles to be on both sides of the wall studs (front and back). Also, the hatching profiles should start from the ground, be placed at 1 per 40 axes, and end where the wall finishes. I haven't been able to do this. I'm attaching screenshots. I'm wondering if anyone can show me what I'm doing wrong.

How can i do? Could you help me about this situation. (and yes, I will calculate the total profile length. This will be done in later stages of the project)

Hi,

I'm not sure the curtain wall tool is the recommended one to use in your use case (since you are having doubled elements that you will want to treat independently). The CW tool has a "scheme" which will allow for complex shapes and even separate elements (having a custom profile with two independent parts, but those would still schedule as one single "frame" . It can be done that way too but you always have to remember which profile is actually doubled in quantity.

Depending on what you are trying to achieve, you can always resort to modeling it manually (with regular column and beam) elements, naming and scheduling accordingly. This is not so time-consuming as it may seem, especially if you use distribute tool etc.

Thank you for your answer. I learned from tutorial videos that I can create this structure using columns and beams. But will this structure I've created function as a wall element? That is, can I use this system to create partitions in my project, divide spaces, and have it act as a wall element, allowing for profile measurements when needed?

Hi,

Well, it won't be a wall element per se (you can't easily add openings) but you may use it to separate spaces (as you may use anything really to separate spaces).

Maybe for your uses you might want to look into wall accessories (it can automatically spread a framing structure within an Archicad wall) - with the wall framing function: https://community.graphisoft.com/t5/Modeling/Accessories-Add-On/ta-p/303775
