Element ID is just based off what you last had there.

Let's say I place a sink and name the ID 'sink-01' it will start numbering from there, but if I change the sink object to a car object, the ID won't change.

If I make a new object and place it, it is just using whatever you had there for ID of the previous object you were placing.

If you want to automate the ID field a bit, you can make favourites of objects you use a lot, or a legend of sorts with a lot of objects readily placed with the element ID set up the way you like.

<T>Hello.

Whenever I try to create a new object the element ID is always filled when later placing the new objects. Is this connected to the object subtypes??

How can I control what element ID is filled out when placing a new object?

Kind Regards</T>
