Yeah, it is weird.
But if it works, just do it.

Duplicated Object GUID (Global Unique IDentifier) problem?

<T>I'm trying to fix some objects that are named differently but would I assume have GUID (Global Unique IDentifier) which are the same as ArchiCAD is saying they are duplicates. This usually happens if you duplicated the object in the Finder/Windows Explorer, renamed it, then when loaded into ArchiCAD it checks the GUID first and it then says it is a dupe.

To fix objects with the same GUID you open the object and do a save as and tick the little box that says "Make new object" and it applies a new GUID to the object. Only problem is doing the above isn't working for me ArchiCAD 20.

Is there another way I can fix this?</T>

If you go to the Library Manager Dialog, and select the library of the object, then duplicate the Library Part there, does it still cause this duplicate issue?

Hi Laszlo

I tried duplicating one of the objects as you said and saved it into the Embedded Objects. Once I reloaded the libraries it did not list the embedded one as being a duplicate. Weird

Should I repeat for the other duped objects and save them out to their respective libraries?
