If I understand correctly.

Have you tried using the "Multileader objec"t in the regular library?

If that one does not work then you can try Jame's Murray label/object

<T>Here's a challenge for you.

I'm after making an object or label which acts like the standard text label - can edit text in the main model space without clicking any boxes but you can change the colour of part of the arrow head or stamp.

see picture for the sort of thing.

You can do it with a combination of object & ID label with no arrow leader but I was after a single object/element</T>

Not quite.

I think it is a label I'm after not an object. If you inject properties into an object the text changes while a label's text remains as is.

So I think I'm after some basic code for creating a custom label from scratch that uses typed text not information from a linked element.

Ok, though you did write "label or object".

Anyway you can try the one by James Murray since there is an Object option and a Label option.

Another opption to try is Masterscript's label <LINK_TEXT text="http://www.masterscript.nl/epages/78066 ... roducts/13">http://www.masterscript.nl/epages/78066077.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/78066077/Products/13</LINK_TEXT>
