I am using the recessed halogen from the objects folders. The problem is that the roof covers up the actual light bulb of the fixture. i was wondering if there is something wrong with my roof presets or is there a way to trim away the roof from the opening of the lamp.

<T>I am having some trouble using lighting in my project. I think I understand how to use hanging lights, what i am having trouble with is recessed lighting. How do you make the roof trim away from the opening of the light? And can you use gravity to make placing the light easier? Thanks.</T>

You may be able to use the Solid Element Operation. Make the lamp the operator and the roof the schlamozzle. It should cut the hole for you.

If not, put a cylinder there and use IT as the schlemiel!
